I wanted to create a character to be part of the environment on the beach. Someone that have a knack of making himself com-fortable.
My best friend in Sweden loved this picture. And he rarely loves anything. (Apart from a sunchair atn a beer) And not until a long time after I realized that HE is just like this character! A man with few gestures and a master on the fine art of comfort-living.
Later I imagined this character as some sort of gangster. The tom-gun under the seat and he had to be on probation to make it to the beach.
I am playing with the thought of making him a son. A copy, but smaller. Could be fun.
The first sketch was about a rich man taking the weekend off from Wall Street. A man that is comp-letely insensitive. Very difficult to live with, naturally.
An orgy in bad taste in this blessed web-picture. Great inspiration. All the reference I needed!
This is the only reference i took into the 3D software. I usually nail and develop the character design in 3D. Because then I have to take all the limitations and practical issues of 3D into consideration.
