This project kept me off the streets for about a week. It was made in New York around 2001.
I wanted to present this as tabloid trash news. Paparazzi's stalking the President all the way to the north pole. I wanted it too look like snap-shots taken with strong zoom lenses. And now when I look at it, almost ten years later, I really feel this would be a fun project to do.
When I see this I also think it is a good idea to blur out the sharpness that many times comes with 3D. It is more pleasing, I think, for the eye to blur it like this.
After 9/11 I had a hard time getting work, so I went down to Seymour Chwast to ask for his advise. I spread all my stuff on his table and he puffed his pipe and walked around the table for a short while.
Until he picked up this postcard I had done. And he told me to make famous people in 3D. He thought it would be a market for it. And he was right. I went home and made the heads of Some celebs and after only about a week I got an employment making celebs in 3D for So! Ani-mation in New York. I worked there for 2-3 years and it was a lot of fun!
